One of the top reasons to switch to A&T Uverse service is the deals that are offered to new customers. No doubt these incentives are working, as there are now more than 2 million U-verse TV customers and the service is just a little more than five years old. But for the customer, the U-verse deal is just a starting point, as they would not keep the service unless they were happy with what was being offered by AT&T in return for the money spent each month. The best Uverse specials are currently found when you subscribe to the triple play package of services. No doubt many happy customers once had a triple play through their local cable TV provider like Time Warner or Comcast. For example, and entry level Uverse deal gets you into the U100 package along with their Pro internet service which offers download speeds of up to 3Mbps. Add to that the Uverse 250 Voice plan which offers unlimited local calling and around 10 different calling features. The regular Uverse price for a bundle like this is $117 per month, and currently discounted $15 for six months bringing it down to $102. While most cable TV packages get you started for around  $100 a month, once the promotion ends you usually end up paying something like $140 to $150 per month for the triple play.

So you can see the savings that an AT&T Uverse deal offers in comparison to your typical cable package. The other incentive being offered for new customers is cash back. This comes in the form of a Visa debit card, which is also referred to in A&T advertisements as a promotion card. There are different amounts available depending on the package that your order. For example, for the package referenced above you get a $300 promotion card along with a $15 discount on the monthly rate.

Different deals are available if you go with either one or two U-verse products, but generally the way things work right now include $100 in promotional rebates for each service.  So if you just go with the Uverse TV and Uverse internet options, you will get $200 in promotional rebates according to the current setup.

Uverse deals are modified frequently by AT&T, so it is always best to do some research and even call AT&T directly to find out what they have to offer.  There are also AT&T deals for those who order the service online so that is something to keep in mind as well.

Residents of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and surrounding areas will soon have a new choice when it comes to television service, as AT&T U-verse is now being deployed in the area.

That is bad news for Cox cable, and to a lesser extent satellite TV companies Dish Network and Direct TV. Cox cable in particular has come under fire in recent years as they have continued to raise rates on their subscriber base. The new U-verse service is not yet available everywhere in Baton Rouge, but will be deployed over the next several months as networks are upgraded to offer the service.

AT&T U-verse uses the latest VDSL technology to deliver high speed internet, voice, and cable TV service to subscribers over the existing network. Cox cable customers in Baton Rouge have been able to bundle services for several years now, though the price hasn’t always been right. U-verse TV, voice, and internet services offer an alternative to Cox, and new customers can often get a great deal. Current AT&T offers include their “Buy Two, Get one Free” internet special, and various cash back incentives are also available if you order U-verse online.

Video competitors Dish Network and Direct TV may also feel the impact of AT&T U-verse coming to a new market. While satellite television companies cannot offer triple play bundles unless they partner with the local phone company, they have been able to capitalize on the high prices most cable TV companies charge.
